CareOff – Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: February 12, 2026

This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all bookings made through the CareOff Platform. By using CareOff, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Introduction

CareOff is an on-demand caregiving platform providing babysitting and elder care services through verified Care Companions. Since our services involve human time commitment, travel, and pre-scheduled availability, our refund and cancellation terms are structured to be fair to both CareSeekers and Care Companions.

3. Instant Booking – Refund Policy

Stage 1: Before Companion Assignment

✔ 100% refund if cancelled before a Companion is assigned.

Stage 2: Companion Assigned (Before Arrival)

If cancelled after assignment but before arrival, a minimum of 2 hours of service charges will be deducted. Remaining balance (if any) will be refunded.

Stage 3: Companion Reached Location (Service Not Started)

If cancelled after the Companion reaches the location but before service starts, a minimum 2-hour charge applies. Remaining amount will be refunded.

Stage 4: Service Started

Refund will be calculated based on unused service hours. A minimum 2-hour charge applies. Example: If 6 hours booked and 3 hours completed → Refund = value of 3 unused hours.

Early Completion: If the CareSeeker voluntarily ends the service early and confirms satisfactory service, no refund will be issued for remaining hours.

4. Scheduled Booking – Refund Policy

5. Cancellation by Companion

If a Companion cancels, CareOff will attempt reassignment. If no replacement is available, a full refund for unserved hours will be issued. Companion reliability score may be impacted.

6. Service Quality & Safety Concerns

Refunds due to misconduct, negligence, safety issues, or service mismatch will be reviewed within 24–48 hours. Outcomes may include full/partial refunds, service credits, or Companion suspension.

7. Emergency Exception Clause

In verified cases of medical emergency, accidents, natural disasters, or force majeure, CareOff may override the standard policy.

10. Abuse Monitoring & Account Restriction

CareOff monitors frequent cancellations and misuse patterns and reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts.

CareOff may update this policy at any time. Updates will be published on the website.
